Common FAQ’s
Here are some frequently asked questions and answers that we hope will help:
We run weekly markets across Sussex including Brighton, Lewes, Hove, Haywards, Hassocks, Ditchling, Cuckfield and Danehill. You can check our Markets page for a full timetable and locations.
Not always! We recently compared baskets and came out cheaper than some supermarkets. Plus, your money goes straight to farmers instead of supply chains.
We’re transparent. Around 65p of every £1 goes directly to the grower, while the rest covers our costs. Compare this to 1–2p in a supermarket.
Yes — all our markets accept card and cash payments.
We sell fresh, seasonal produce from Sussex farmers and makers – fruit, veg, meat, dairy, bread, eggs, pantry staples, and more. Everything is locally sourced, transparent and high quality.
We run rain or shine! Some shoppers pop by for the essentials in bad weather, but our produce is there regardless.
Yes, we have an online shop where you can order for collection at an upcoming market.
Absolutely. Christmas orders open in October each year and can be ordered through our website or directly at a market. Our Christmas produce includes turkey, gammon, beef, lamb, smoked salmon, seasonal veg, cheese and festive treats. Ordering ahead guarantees your food and supports local farms.
Not everything is certified organic. We work with a mix of organic, biodynamic, regenerative and small trusted farms. Some follow organic principles but don’t have certification meaning you can speak directly with the grower about how they farm. Please see our Farming Glossary for more information.
Almost all of our food comes from Sussex growers, farmers and producers. On average, our produce travels approximately 21 miles compared to a supermarket’s 15,000.
Incredibly fresh. Produce is harvested 24-48 hours prior to being available at our markets. You’ll taste the difference.
