Pork Loin
Farmed by Richard and Linda Bates. Richards family have had the farm since the 1940’s. Richard now farms a slow rearing large white cross breed to produce the most delicious pork.
At Heatherdene the pigs live a free range life in large open straw barns, Richard’s self-mix feed, and in the summer, they are out on the Wealden Clay.
With stocking densities so low and a varied diet these pigs live a very contented life, allowing Richard to remove all vaccinations and medication in the feed.
Our Pork Loin is a large, thick cut of pork taken from the back of the pig, located between the shoulder and the rear, and extending from the backbone to above the hip. It’s a lean, mild-tasting meat great for roasting.
