OUR FRUIT AND VEGETABLES
We carefully select a mix of small market garden, larger conventional farms and specialised growers to provide the best seasonal produce throughout the year.

SMALL SCALE
We proudly work with local vegetable growers such as Laines Organics and Ashurst Organics (among others), where nature plays an integral role in pest control.
Their agricultural approach is focused on improving soil health, restoring ecosystems, and enhancing biodiversity while producing food sustainably. All grown without chemicals, sprays, or synthetic fertilisers.
These farms treat the land and their food production as a self-sustaining ecosystem where soil health, plant growth, and wildlife are interconnected.
These farms use outdoor growing methods, allowing their crops to thrive under natural elements — wind, rain, and full sun. The result? Stronger, richer flavours and hardier vegetables, thanks to fertile, nutrient-rich soils. Our small scale market garden growers will farm Organically, Biodynamically, or where not certified follow Organic Practices.
SPECIALISED
In addition to seasonal diversity, we also partner with specialist growers who focus on a few standout crops such as mushrooms, tomatoes, and fruits.

A perfect example is Nutbourne Nurseries. A family run business who cultivate 25 varieties of insecticide and pesticide-free tomatoes under glass green houses using hydroponic farming methods. These tomatoes are picked ripe and ready to eat from April to October, ensuring exceptional quality and flavour.

Another example is Oast Farm Buxted who specialise in all English grown fruit. Although starting out in conventional farming, they have opted for a preventative approach to pest control, prioritising the flavour of their fruit over the quantity harvested.
CONVENTIONAL
To meet demand and extend our growing season, we also collaborate with a select group of larger, more conventional Sussex growers.

While they use pesticides sparingly and only when absolutely necessary, their primary goal remains the health of their soil and the sustainability of their farm.
Some years, no pesticides are needed at all — a testament to their commitment to responsible farming.
One such farm is Eastfield Farm, run by the Foot family for over 100 years. Situated on a 140-acre site with medium loam soil, they take pride in growing the finest seasonal vegetables.
With such farming practices, sprays and select chemicals will be used to maximise yield and efficiencies on the farm.

We choose to work with a diverse group of local farms who share our ethos of ‘good food farmed well’.
Our direct relationship with the farmers means their farming practices are openly communicated and transparent.
We know how our food is farmed, by who, how, and when it was harvested.
